If you have never had IV therapy before, here is a straightforward breakdown of what actually happens, how long it takes, what it feels like, and what to do before and after.
Before Your Visit
There is not much you need to do to prepare, but a few things help. Eat a light meal or snack before your appointment. IV therapy on a completely empty stomach can sometimes cause lightheadedness. Drink water beforehand, but do not overdo it. Wear a short-sleeve shirt or something with sleeves you can push up easily, since the IV is typically placed in your forearm or the back of your hand.
You do not need an appointment at Vivolo. Walk-ins are welcome. But if you want to guarantee a specific time, booking ahead is always an option.
Arriving and Choosing Your Drip
When you arrive, our staff will ask about your goals for the session and any relevant health information. Are you recovering from a late night? Fighting off a cold? Training for a race? Looking for a general wellness boost? Your answers help us recommend the right drip.
Our menu ranges from a basic hydration bag at $149 to specialized formulations for immunity, performance, stress relief, and aesthetics at $199. You can also add individual injections like B12, Glutathione, or Vitamin C to any IV service.
If this is your first time, we will explain exactly what is in the drip and what each ingredient does. No mystery formulas.
The IV Insertion
This is the part most people are nervous about, and it is also the part that is over the fastest. Our registered nurses place IVs every day. The process takes about 30 seconds.
You will feel a small pinch when the needle goes in. Once the catheter is placed, the needle is removed and only a thin, flexible tube remains in your vein. Most people say it is less painful than a regular blood draw. If you are needle-averse, let us know. We can walk you through it, use a smaller gauge needle, or apply a numbing spray.
During the Drip
Once the IV is running, you sit back and relax. A standard liter bag takes 30 to 60 minutes to infuse, depending on the formulation and flow rate. You can scroll your phone, read, work on your laptop, or just close your eyes.
Some people feel the effects during the drip itself, a subtle energy lift, a sense of calm, or a feeling of hydration you cannot quite get from drinking water. Others do not notice anything until after the session. Both responses are normal.
Our staff monitors you throughout. If you feel any discomfort, nausea, or anything unusual, we adjust immediately.
After Your Session
When the bag is empty, we remove the IV catheter, apply a small bandage, and you are done. There is no recovery period. You can drive, go to work, exercise, or continue your day as normal.
Most people report feeling noticeably better within a few hours. Hydration and energy are the most immediate effects. Immune support and recovery benefits may take a day or two to fully manifest.
We recommend drinking water throughout the rest of the day. Avoid heavy alcohol for 24 hours if possible, especially if you came in for recovery or detox purposes.
How Often Should You Get IV Therapy?
This depends on your goals. For general wellness, once or twice a month is a common cadence. For specific situations like illness recovery, athletic training, or travel fatigue, you might come in more frequently for a short period.
Some of our regular clients come weekly. Others come once a month. There is no required minimum or maximum. Your body, your schedule, your call.
If you are interested in a regular cadence, our membership program offers discounted rates and priority booking.
